This web novel definitely took me on a ride! "The Male God’s Favorable Impressions Are Difficult to Farm" promised a lot with its intriguing synopsis and tags, and while it had some shining moments, it also stumbled in a few key areas. Here's my take on it.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the premise. The idea of a quick transmigration (QT) story with a snarky protagonist and a system sounded like a fun twist on a familiar genre. I went in expecting wit, adventure, and maybe a touch of romance. The early chapters delivered on some of that promise, but the execution became increasingly uneven as the story progressed.
What Works Well
The MC's internal monologue and commentary on the often-absurd plotlines were genuinely entertaining. His snarky remarks to the system provided some laugh-out-loud moments, and I appreciated the moments where he called out the story's inconsistencies. I also found the "rotten male system" concept to be a unique and engaging element. The initial worlds held promise, and the dynamic between the MC and the ML, at least in the beginning, was interesting. Some readers also seem to enjoy the bro-con elements.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the novel suffers from some significant issues. The plot often felt aimless, and I struggled to understand the MC's goals in each world. World-building was also inconsistent, making it difficult to become fully invested in the different settings. Character development was another weak point. The ML's personality shift felt jarring and unearned. It seemed like the author was making things up as they went along, which lead to inconsistencies and plot holes.

Several readers have pointed out disturbing content in later arcs, particularly regarding the treatment of a female character. The actions of the "prestigious family" and the lack of consequences for their behavior were deeply unsettling. The parents' neglect and abusive actions towards the adopted daughter were also a major turn-off for many readers.

"The Male God’s Favorable Impressions Are Difficult to Farm" had potential, but ultimately fell short. While the MC's snark and the initial premise were appealing, the weak plot, inconsistent world-building, and problematic character development made it a difficult read. The disturbing content in later arcs was the final nail in the coffin for me. I can't wholeheartedly recommend this novel.
