Check aliases before you add the same book twice
Clear and Muddy Loss of Love and JWQS both identify one catalog record. If both names appear in your list, this tool shows the two lines together and keeps the first.
The check uses title-to-record links across 18,519 novels. Each name must identify exactly one record before it can be merged. Names shared by several records need your review, even when one is a main title.
Catalog aliases can be incomplete or incorrect. Check each duplicate group before you replace a saved list. The result keeps unknown names and separates records for different editions.

How does the Reading List Duplicate Checker find duplicates?
Each line must match a stored title or alias after letter case, repeated spaces, curly apostrophes, and Unicode width variants are normalized. When two lines each identify the same single catalog record, the first line is kept. Other punctuation and edition labels must match. The tool does not guess from similar wording.
What happens to unknown or ambiguous titles?
They stay in the list, including repeated unknown names. A name shared by several catalog records is marked for review and is never merged automatically. This helps keep separate editions apart. A missing alias can leave a real duplicate undetected.
Can I check a private reading list?
Yes. Paste up to 100 non-empty lines, with one title per line and no bullets, numbers, or reading notes. The comparison runs in your browser. The tool does not upload or save your list. Select the result text to copy it, and review the duplicate groups before replacing your own list.
