My Thoughts on President, Our Egg Is Lost
I dove into "President, Our Egg Is Lost" expecting a lighthearted, fluffy read, and for the most part, that's exactly what I got. This novel is a completed translation, and overall, I found it to be a very enjoyable experience.
First Impressions
The title and summary are definitely a bit… unusual. I can see how they might be misleading. However, I quickly learned that at its heart, this story is about a hard-working MC who is fiercely protective of his egg and ends up in a relationship with a CEO. It's a blend of comedy, romance, and xuanhuan elements that worked surprisingly well for me.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its cuteness and humor. The MC's naivete, combined with his surprising strength and dedication to his egg, created a character I couldn't help but root for. I especially enjoyed how he navigated the human world, often with hilarious results. The romance, while predictable, was still sweet and satisfying. The ML, although initially a bit overbearing, goes through significant character development and becomes a genuinely caring partner. The supportive in-laws were a refreshing change from the usual tropes. Many readers seem to agree that the relationship between the MC and the ML grows naturally.
Areas of Concern
While I mostly enjoyed the novel, there were a few aspects that could have been better. Some found the ML to be too overbearing, and I can see how that might be a turn-off for some readers. The MC's naivete, while charming, sometimes bordered on gullibility. Also, I did notice that the plot felt a bit rushed in the later chapters, and some of the side characters could have been more fleshed out.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some reviews mention that the ML makes some mistakes in the beginning which can be problematic. The MC's egg cracks due to an accident and a chick is born.
Final Verdict
Despite some minor flaws, "President, Our Egg Is Lost" is a delightful and entertaining read. If you're looking for a fluffy, low-angst story with a cute protagonist, a doting love interest, and a healthy dose of childcare, I highly recommend giving this novel a try. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
