My Thoughts on I Have Amnesia, Don’t Be Noisy!
"I Have Amnesia, Don’t Be Noisy!" promised a fluffy, feel-good read, and for the most part, it delivered. I was drawn in by the premise of an established couple navigating amnesia, a trope that can often lead to frustrating misunderstandings. Thankfully, this novel largely avoids that pitfall.
First Impressions
Right from the start, I was charmed by the dynamic between Chu Qin and Zhong Yibin. The fact that they were already a couple provided a refreshing change of pace. Instead of the usual slow burn, the story focuses on how their relationship evolves after the amnesia hits. I found myself quickly invested in their journey.
What Works Well
The biggest strength of this novel is its focus on a healthy and loving relationship. The external conflicts, like family drama and media gossip, felt more engaging because the core of the relationship was already solid. I really appreciated that the characters communicated and trusted each other, avoiding unnecessary angst.
Many readers praised the character development, particularly Zhong Yibin's. His amnesia acts as a catalyst for growth, allowing him to shed some of his past shortcomings and become a more mature and attentive partner. I found this transformation compelling and heartwarming. Chu Qin, with his wit and charm, was also a delight to read. His dedication and support for Zhong Yibin made their relationship feel truly balanced.
Areas of Concern
While I generally enjoyed the story, I did notice a few areas that could have been stronger. Some readers felt that the plot lost momentum after a certain point, and I can see where they're coming from. The kidnapping subplot, for instance, felt somewhat rushed and anticlimactic. Also, some side characters felt underdeveloped, and their inclusion sometimes felt a bit random.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers mentioned disliking how Zhong Yibin's mother was initially portrayed, but appreciated her eventual character development. Also, some found the ending to be abrupt.
Final Verdict
Overall, "I Have Amnesia, Don’t Be Noisy!" is a delightful and heartwarming read. It's perfect if you're looking for a fluffy BL novel with a focus on a healthy relationship and character growth. While it has a few minor flaws, the strengths of the story far outweigh the weaknesses. I'd recommend it to anyone in need of a sweet and comforting escape.
