My Thoughts on Environment Protection After Rebirth
I dove into "Environment Protection After Rebirth" with a mix of curiosity and skepticism, and I came out feeling… well, complicated. It's a story that has flashes of brilliance, moments of genuine humor, and some truly head-scratching plot decisions. It's definitely a unique read, blending environmental themes with rebirth, ghosts, and high school drama in a way I haven't quite encountered before.
First Impressions
The premise immediately grabbed me: a female MC reborn as a ghost, tasked with protecting the environment to gain power. It's quirky, original, and promised a fresh take on the revenge-rebirth trope. I was also intrigued by the "cold protagonist" tag, wondering how that would play out with the josei and romance elements. The initial chapters delivered on the humor front, with the MC's fish-out-of-water reactions to being alive again providing plenty of laughs.
What Works Well
The relationship between the MC, Wei Ying, and the ML, Tang Yu, is definitely a highlight. Their dynamic is genuinely sweet and funny, especially the role-reversal aspect where she's the physically strong one and he's the brainy, nurturing partner. The MC's unconventional personality, a result of her ghostly existence, makes her interactions with others unpredictable and entertaining. Many will also enjoy the unique take on the ML, with his split personality and devotion to the MC. I also appreciated the environmental protection theme, even if it felt a bit simplistic at times.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed many aspects of the story, it's not without its flaws. The plot does feel rushed, especially towards the end. Some plot threads are left dangling, and character development for side characters is minimal. I also found the execution of the environmental protection aspect somewhat lacking. While the intention is good, it often boils down to picking up trash, which feels like a missed opportunity to explore deeper environmental issues.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
There are a few plot points that might be considered spoilers. The ML's split personality and eventual integration, the MC's stepsister being kidnapped, and the rather abrupt ending are all things you might want to experience firsthand.
Final Verdict
Overall, "Environment Protection After Rebirth" is a flawed but entertaining read. If you're looking for a lighthearted story with a unique premise, a sweet romance, and a dash of the supernatural, this might be worth your time. Just be prepared for some plot holes and a slightly rushed ending. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
