"Contract Marriage" is a completed yaoi web novel that's been on my radar for a while, and after diving in, I can see why it has garnered a solid 4.2/5 rating. It's a fluffy, relatively angst-free story centered around a contract marriage between a seemingly cold CEO and a hardworking college student. While the premise has some potential pitfalls, the novel ultimately delivers a sweet and heartwarming romance.
First Impressions
Okay, I'll be honest: the initial chapters were a bit rough. The male lead's (ML) initial actions, forcing the main character (MC) into a marriage contract due to his parents' debt, felt a bit…much. He comes across as less of a tsundere and more of a villain in those early stages. It definitely colored my perception of him, and I was concerned about how the relationship would develop.
What Works Well
