My Thoughts on The Dark King
"The Dark King" is definitely a mixed bag, but overall, I found myself surprisingly hooked. It's a post-apocalyptic world with a blend of sci-fi, horror, and a touch of the supernatural, and the premise alone was enough to grab my attention. The story follows a protagonist from the past who wakes up centuries later to a drastically changed world, and that setup has a lot of potential.
First Impressions
Initially, the world-building really impressed me. The author paints a vivid picture of a walled city struggling to survive against mutated monsters and the undead. The blend of historical aristocratic society with the remnants of advanced technology creates a unique and intriguing atmosphere. I was quickly invested in the mystery of what happened to the old world and how humanity ended up in this state.
