My Thoughts on President’s Exclusive Alchemist

President's Exclusive Alchemist promised a blend of modern life, cultivation, and romance, and while it delivered on some fronts, it stumbled in others. Overall, I found it to be an enjoyable, if somewhat uneven, read.

First Impressions

The premise is definitely intriguing: a protagonist returning from a cultivation world to his modern life with a second chance. He's armed with knowledge and resources that set him apart, and I was immediately drawn into the idea of him navigating this new/old reality. The early chapters were promising, setting the stage for a unique blend of slice-of-life and xianxia elements.

What Works Well

I appreciated the balanced relationship between the MC and ML. The ML's devotion was sweet without being overly controlling, and the MC had a strong personality. The slice-of-life aspects, like farming and jade gambling, were fun diversions. Many readers praised the author's ability to explain complex concepts smoothly, and I agree. The flow of the story, for the most part, kept me engaged. The story is a relaxing, feel-good read, with no major angst or tragedy.

Areas of Concern

However, the pacing felt off at times. The ending felt rushed, with plot threads tied up too quickly. I also felt that the author could have fleshed out the characters more. Some found the ML's instant infatuation a bit jarring. The constant repetition of certain phrases and descriptions also became noticeable. There were also comments on the excessive detail in some areas, while others felt glossed over, leading to an unbalanced reading experience. I also found the wordiness and info-dumping to be a bit much at times.

⚠️ Spoiler Warning

Some readers felt the ending was abrupt, particularly the lack of exploration of the cultivation world. The ML's past seemed hinted at but never fully developed, leaving a sense of unfulfilled potential. The antagonist's motives were also unclear.

Final Verdict

Despite its flaws, "President's Exclusive Alchemist" is a decent read if you're looking for a relaxing story with a unique premise. It's not perfect, but it offers a blend of genres that can be quite enjoyable. I'd recommend it with the caveat that you should be prepared for some pacing issues and a slightly rushed ending. It’s a solid 3.5/5 stars from me.

Synopsis

The well known Ming Wuxiang of the comprehension plane did not expect that luck would favor him again and let him return to his world. He was back to the age of eighteen when many things happened in the year. Looking down at the grass, even if it was all disorganized, it was still unable to cover up the man who was full of honor and nobleness. Ming Wuxiang bowed his head and pondered: mm-hmm, this handsome wounded man looks familiar. Take it away ≥ ▽ ≤. President Gu: ^_^
