My Thoughts on Pregnant Tentacle Gong Goes to Which Department?
Okay, buckle up, because "Pregnant Tentacle Gong Goes to Which Department?" is a ride. I went into this expecting something weird, and boy, did I get it. This novel throws you headfirst into a world where eldritch horror meets domestic bliss, and the result is surprisingly heartwarming, if you can stomach the…extracurricular activities.
First Impressions
My initial reaction was definitely a raised eyebrow, followed by a hesitant click. The premise is bonkers, let's be honest. A calm MC falling for a tentacled ML, complete with mpreg? It's a lot. But I was intrigued, and I'm glad I took the plunge. The story plunges you into their already established relationship. The first few chapters are a whirlwind of oddities that quickly become endearing.
What Works Well
The core of this novel is the relationship between the MC and ML, and it's surprisingly well-developed. They're both incredibly devoted to each other, even if their methods are...unconventional. The yandere aspects are dialed up to eleven, but it's a mutual obsession, which makes it strangely sweet. I especially loved the family dynamics, especially with the addition of their unique child. The interactions with the Lu family were hilarious, and the kid is an absolute scene-stealer. The story is very funny and doesn't take itself too seriously. I thought the author did a great job of balancing the horror elements with the comedic and romantic aspects.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall story, I can see why it might not be for everyone. There are definitely some gruesome scenes, including body horror and vore. If you're sensitive to those kinds of things, this might not be the novel for you. Also, the world building is a bit rough around the edges. Some plot points feel underdeveloped, and there are a few inconsistencies.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Okay, heads up, there are some minor spoilers ahead!
I did find the ML's initial attempts to hide his true nature from the MC a bit unsettling. The mind-wiping was a definite red flag, even if it came from a place of (twisted) love. Also, be warned that there's a particularly gorey scene near the end that might catch you off guard.
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Pregnant Tentacle Gong Goes to Which Department?" is a surprisingly enjoyable read. It's a wild, weird, and ultimately heartwarming story about love, family, and accepting each other for who they are, tentacles and all. If you're looking for something completely out of the box and don't mind a bit of gore, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. Just be prepared for a truly unique experience.
