My Thoughts on Never Dare to Abuse the Female Protagonist Again
"Never Dare to Abuse the Female Protagonist Again" has been quite the ride so far, and I'm eager to share my thoughts. The premise itself is intriguing: an author transmigrates into her own novel, a story she finds increasingly cringeworthy. That alone hooked me, and I can definitely relate to that feeling of looking back at past creative endeavors with a healthy dose of embarrassment.
First Impressions
My initial impression was largely positive. The early chapters are strong, and I appreciated the author's self-awareness regarding common Chinese novel tropes. It made the experience more engaging and humorous. I was immediately drawn in by the mystery surrounding the female lead and the hints of a yandere personality.
What Works Well
The story's comedic elements are definitely a highlight. I found myself laughing out loud at several points, especially at the MC's reactions to her own writing. The dynamic between Shi Lou and Mu Sou is sweet, fluffy, and somewhat twisted, which I personally enjoyed. The slow-burn mystery surrounding the plot and the characters' true nature is also a major draw, keeping me invested in finding out what happens next. The pacing feels good, slowly unraveling secrets and leaving me wanting more.
Areas of Concern
While I'm generally enjoying the story, I do have some reservations. The plot can feel a bit convoluted at times, and I can see how some readers might find it confusing. The nature of the ML's arrival and the "plot correction" element felt a little underdeveloped to me, and I'm hoping these aspects will be fleshed out more as the story progresses. There's also a sense that the MC is strangely unaware of some pretty significant things about the female lead, which strains credulity a bit.
Final Verdict
Overall, "Never Dare to Abuse the Female Protagonist Again" is a promising novel with a unique premise and engaging characters. While it has some flaws, the humor, mystery, and sweet (yet slightly unhinged) romance kept me entertained. If you're a fan of transmigration stories with a touch of yuri and a lot of self-aware humor, this one might be worth checking out. I'm giving it a solid recommendation with the caveat that it might not be for everyone, especially if you prefer straightforward plots.
