My Thoughts on My White Moonlight Took Off His Women’s Clothes
I recently finished reading My White Moonlight Took Off His Women’s Clothes, and it was quite the ride! This historical romance, with a dash of yaoi, really grabbed my attention. While it wasn't perfect, it definitely left a positive impression.
First Impressions
Going into this, I was intrigued by the cross-dressing element and the promise of a slow-burn romance. The synopsis paints a picture of a strong general yearning for his "white moonlight," only to find things aren't quite as they seem. That initial hook definitely worked for me.
What Works Well
The relationship between the MC and ML is definitely a highlight. I loved how their feelings developed gradually and organically. It felt believable and earned, which is so important in a romance. The MC's devotion to the people was refreshing, he’s a sincerely kind soul amidst courtly intrigue. I also appreciated that the ML, despite his tragic past and cold exterior, showed respect for boundaries. The dynamic between the "sun-like" MC and the ML who grew up in a harsh environment was compelling. The plot, while not overly complex, kept me engaged, and it was satisfying to see justice served to the antagonists.
Areas of Concern
If I had to nitpick, it would be that the MC is almost too perfect. He excels at everything, and his lack of flaws can make him feel a bit unrealistic. However, his likeability ultimately made this a minor issue for me. Additionally, some found the political aspects to be a bit basic, wishing for a more intricate web of courtly maneuvering. I can see that, but for me, it didn't detract too much from the overall enjoyment.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Okay, if you haven't read the novel yet, skip this part!
One of the most surprising and delightful twists was the ML's true identity and the way it was handled. I found it refreshing that the ML eventually ascended the throne as a Princess!
Final Verdict
Overall, I would recommend My White Moonlight Took Off His Women’s Clothes to anyone looking for a heartwarming historical romance with well-developed characters and a satisfying plot. Despite a few minor flaws, the strengths of the story far outweigh the weaknesses. I found it to be a truly enjoyable read, and I'm glad I took the time to experience it.
