My Thoughts on I Raised A Sick And Weak Prince
"I Raised A Sick And Weak Prince" had been sitting on my to-read list for a while, and I finally dove in. This historical fantasy romance, with a dash of slice of life, promised a unique premise, and I was eager to see if it delivered. Overall, I found it to be a charming and heartwarming read, though not without a few minor drawbacks.
First Impressions
The initial hook is definitely intriguing: a modern-day high school student, Su Xi, finds a mobile game that connects her to a sickly, abused prince in ancient China. The idea of raising a character through an app, only to discover he's a real person, is undeniably clever. I appreciated the blend of modern and historical elements right from the start. The translation quality had a few hiccups early on, but it smoothed out significantly as I progressed.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its adorable and fluffy interactions between Su Xi and Lu Huan, the titular prince. I loved the "mama bear" personality Su Xi develops, and how Lu Huan, despite his initial guardedness, slowly warms up to her. Their relationship felt natural and their love story unfolded without unnecessary drama or misunderstandings. Lu Huan's character is particularly well-developed; he's intelligent, capable, and considerate, and his efforts to adapt to the modern world were both amusing and heartwarming. The unique plot, with its blend of gaming elements and historical setting, kept me engaged throughout. It’s a light-hearted read, perfect for when you need something sweet and stress-free.

Okay, let's talk spoilers for a moment. The system itself was created by ML as that was the last task that he has to do within 40 years and send to MC in 2020. Even FL avoiding her bad luck, winning lottery were done by ML via tasks after reaching 100 points. Before reaching 200 points FL phone get damaged and their connection breaks up as only through FL phone it can be established. So ML did his task and screen come up at his side and he jumps to her world without any care as to him she is his world. Before that ML has many times professed his feelings but FL couldn't answer as to her they lived in different worlds and many practical things were thought by her. But after seeing ML in her world and without connection with him after her phone damaged she did realise her feelings and decided to take one step at a time.
Final Verdict

While it may not be groundbreaking literature, it offers a sweet and engaging story with well-developed characters and a clever premise.
