"Happy Doomsday" is a wild ride, a complex sci-fi mystery that grabbed my attention from the start. It's definitely not a light read, but if you're looking for something thought-provoking and mature, this might just be your cup of tea.
First Impressions
The premise is immediately intriguing: Ruan Xian wakes up years after his supposed death in a world controlled by a rogue AI. He teams up with Tang Yibu, an android with his own mysterious agenda, and their journey to uncover the truth is anything but straightforward. I was hooked by the initial mystery and the promise of a unique dystopian world.
What Works Well
The world-building is a standout feature. It's creative and meticulously detailed, with a gradual unveiling of the setting through the eyes of the main characters. The author doesn't spoon-feed you; you piece things together as you go, which I found incredibly immersive.
