My Thoughts on Fortune Teller Master
"Fortune Teller Master" promised a lighthearted dive into the world of divination, and for the most part, it delivered. This novel follows a cultivation master reincarnated as a high school girl, using her past-life knowledge to solve problems and make a name for herself as a fortune teller. It's a blend of xuanhuan and slice-of-life, and it was an easy read overall.
First Impressions
Right from the start, I was drawn in by the comedic elements. The premise itself is amusing, and the author does a good job of highlighting the contrast between the MC's ancient wisdom and her modern high school life. The early chapters are engaging as we see her navigate this new world and quickly establish herself as a powerful figure.
What Works Well
The episodic nature of the story is a strong point. Each arc focuses on a different client with unique problems, keeping the plot fresh and interesting. I particularly enjoyed how quickly the MC resolves issues – there's no drawn-out waiting for results, which provides instant gratification. The humor is definitely a highlight, with many funny situations and witty dialogue that kept me entertained. The MC is also a well-balanced character; she's powerful but not emotionless, clever but still learning.
Areas of Concern
While the novel is generally enjoyable, I did have some reservations. The romance, or lack thereof, was a common point of contention. While I didn't mind the minimal romance, I can understand why some readers might be disappointed. Some found the ending rushed and the romantic subplot unsatisfying. Also, in the later arcs, the plot felt too fast-paced and less engaging. Some even felt the MC's power was excessive.

Despite some flaws, I found "Fortune Teller Master" to be an entertaining and funny read. It's a great choice if you're looking for a lighthearted story with a unique premise and a strong female lead. Just be aware of the rushed ending and potentially offensive content. I'd recommend it as a fun, easy read.
