My Thoughts on Face Slapping The Slag Gong System
"Face Slapping The Slag Gong System" is a wild ride of transmigration, romance, and revenge that definitely left an impression. I went in expecting a standard face-slapping story, but what I got was something much more… complicated. This novel isn't for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for something different, it might just be your cup of tea.
First Impressions
Okay, I'll be honest, the first arc nearly made me quit. The main character (MC) comes across as incredibly callous, almost gleefully cruel. It was hard to root for him, and I wasn't sure if I could stomach his antics for the rest of the novel. I was wondering if I should continue reading but I'm glad I did.
What Works Well
Despite my initial reservations, the story grew on me. I found the MC to be sly and intelligent, good at acting, and keeps calm in any situation. The different personalities that the male lead has in each arc are really interesting and well written. Each world is detailed enough for you to be immerse in the plot, the ending is not predictable at all in each world. Where in other novels of the same genre it was always predictable in each world. Some world here had me feeling sad and some where really happy and also bitter, There were all sort of feelings. I really didn't feel bored at all.
Areas of Concern
One thing that bothered me was that the identity of the male lead (ML) isn't immediately obvious. It made it feel like I was reading a harem novel, and I couldn't fully invest in any one pairing. Also, the MC can be a bit unlikeable at times.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Okay, let's talk about the ending. It turns out that all the MLs from the different worlds are actually fragments of the same soul, and they all end up together in the MC's world. The MC has to go back to all the worlds he's been through and complete the regrets of his lovers to pacify them. The personalities become one, which is the ultimate alien ML that the MC is completely satisfied with.
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, I found "Face Slapping The Slag Gong System" to be surprisingly enjoyable. The plot twists kept me on my toes, and the romance, while unconventional, was ultimately satisfying. If you're looking for a quick transmigration novel with a unique premise and a morally ambiguous MC, give this one a try. I'd give it a solid 4/5 stars.
