My Thoughts on I’m Scattering IQ to the Protagonist
"I’m Scattering IQ to the Protagonist" promised a unique spin on the quick transmigration genre, and after diving in, I've come out with mixed feelings. It’s a novel that offers some genuine entertainment, but also falls short in a few key areas.
First Impressions
The premise hooked me immediately: a supposedly high-IQ MC tasked with scattering intelligence to love interests across multiple worlds. The initial setup felt fresh, and I was eager to see how the author would execute this concept, especially with the added system element. I went into it expecting a smart and funny story with a good romance, but I wasn't sure if it would deliver.
What Works Well
The romance, for many, is a highlight. I found the relationship between the MC and ML to be genuinely sweet and non-toxic, a welcome change from some of the more problematic BL novels out there. There's an eagerness that the ML has for the MC. The initial premise is fun, and the first arc is a good introduction to the world. The face-slapping of villains is satisfying, especially in the earlier arcs, where the MC's actions feel more impactful.
Areas of Concern
However, I couldn't shake the feeling that the novel doesn't quite live up to its potential. The "scattering IQ" plot point largely disappears after the first few arcs, which is disappointing given the title. I also found it hard to believe that the MC is as smart as he is made out to be; often, it feels like other characters are just dumbed down to make him look intelligent. The system, intended to be cute, can often come across as annoying. And the ML, while sweet, sometimes lacks depth and a consistent personality across different worlds.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Several readers mentioned the ending. I agree that the author’s choice to continue the journey with the ML collecting soul fragments was a refreshing change from a typical "game over" scenario. However, some found that the plot lost steam once the ML regained his memories, making the later arcs less engaging.
Final Verdict
Overall, "I’m Scattering IQ to the Protagonist" is an okay read if you're looking for something lighthearted and don't mind a somewhat shallow plot. I think it's a good choice for when you want to relax and not use your brain. While it has its flaws, its strengths in romance and quick development make it a worthwhile time-killer. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
