My Thoughts on Empress Running Away with the Ball!
Okay, buckle up, because "Empress Running Away with the Ball!" is a bit of a rollercoaster. I dove in expecting a cunning female lead outsmarting everyone in ancient China, and while there are definitely elements of that, the overall experience was…mixed, to say the least.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the premise. A modern woman reincarnated as the Empress, saddled with an awful husband and a scheming sister-in-law? Sign me up! The synopsis promised a clever protagonist, and in the beginning, she delivered. Her methods of revenge were refreshingly unique, not relying on typical overpowered abilities but on wit and observation. I appreciated that.

The female lead's intelligence and resourcefulness are definitely the strongest aspects of this novel. I loved seeing her use her modern knowledge and sharp mind to navigate the treacherous court.
