My Thoughts on The System Cried And Begged Me To Become A God!
First Impressions
"The System Cried And Begged Me To Become A God!" immediately struck me as a lighthearted and quirky read. The premise alone, hinting at a protagonist who can bully a system into submission, promised a fun and comedic experience. Knowing it's a completed original novel with an ongoing translation gave me the confidence to jump right in. The tags, especially "carefree protagonist," "comedic undertone," and "doting love interests," were definitely enticing.
What Works Well
The humor is definitely a strong point. The "face-slap" moments, where the MC outsmarts the evil god system, are apparently quite satisfying. It seems the author does a great job of creating memorable side characters with unique personalities. The story seems to be structured into mini-arcs involving ghosts and good deeds, which keeps things fresh and engaging. I also appreciated the slice-of-life feel, with the MC rebuilding family relationships and making new friends. The protagonist's cleverness and his ability to use his powers to gain fame through livestreams and ghost hunting sound incredibly entertaining.
Areas of Concern
One concern that did pop up was the relationship between the MC and ML. It seems some found it superficial, lacking a deep emotional connection, and feeling more like a drawn-out dating phase. There were also some comments on the ML being a bit of a background character, only appearing sporadically and not being fully integrated into the plot. The abrupt appearance of a child later in the story was also mentioned as feeling somewhat random and forced, as if to create a "family" dynamic artificially.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Okay, so there are some spoilers to consider here. Apparently, the MC comes from a world where he faced family betrayal and business conspiracies. He then enters a world-hopping game where he meets the ML. This backstory adds depth to the MC's character, but it's revealed gradually. Also, the peg was mentioned as being unnecessary to the plot.
Final Verdict
Overall, despite some minor flaws, "The System Cried And Begged Me To Become A God!" sounds like a fun and relaxing read. The comedic elements, quirky characters, and feel-good plot points seem to outweigh the concerns about the romance and pacing. If you're looking for a lighthearted novel with a clever protagonist and plenty of supernatural shenanigans, this might be right up your alley. I'm definitely adding it to my reading list!
