My Thoughts on The President’s One-Night Stand
This omegaverse oneshot promised a quick and steamy read, and for the most part, it delivered. "The President's One-Night Stand" dives right into the action, and while it's not going to win any awards for groundbreaking plot development, it's a fun little escape.
First Impressions
Okay, so going in, I knew this was a smutty BL oneshot, so my expectations were set accordingly. The premise is simple: an innocent alpha CEO decides to finally lose his virginity and ends up meeting a very attractive alpha at a bar. The first encounter is definitely memorable, to say the least!
What Works Well
For a short story, it manages to pack in a surprising amount of characterization. I found the main character, Jiao Xu, to be quite endearing, and the dynamic between him and the "beauty" he picks up is undeniably hot. The author does a good job of creating a believable connection, even within the limited timeframe. The smut itself is well-written and steamy, which is a definite plus. I appreciated that the story wasn't overly dramatic or angsty; it was just a cute and lighthearted romance with some spice thrown in. Several readers also pointed out that the plot, while simple, was still engaging and added to the overall enjoyment. The MC's adaptability to the situation was also a fun and unexpected element.
