My Thoughts on She Comes from the Highest Interstellar Prison
This novel definitely throws you into the deep end of a sci-fi revenge story, and while it has some rough edges, I found myself enjoying the ride. "She Comes from the Highest Interstellar Prison" is a wild blend of action, academy life, and mecha battles, all centered around a seriously OP female lead.
First Impressions
The initial chapters are a whirlwind. We're dropped right into the action with the FL escaping interstellar prison and quickly enrolling in the academy. It's a bit jarring, and I can see why some readers felt like there were missing scene transitions and a lack of world-building early on. It felt like I was thrown into the deep end of the pool without floaties.
What Works Well
Once I got my bearings, I was hooked by the revenge plot. The FL is a force to be reckoned with, and I loved watching her dismantle the corrupt Interstellar Federation piece by piece. Many readers praised her intelligence and ruthlessness, and I agree – she's not a delicate flower; she's a survivor. The action sequences are frequent and exciting, and the overall premise of a genius from a poor background taking on a galaxy-spanning empire is undeniably appealing. I also appreciated the subtle romance that develops, never overshadowing the main plot but adding a sweet touch. The idea of her using pharmacy skills as part of her plan was also a nice touch.
Areas of Concern
The translation quality is a significant issue. The inconsistent naming conventions and awkward phrasing made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story. This is a shame because the underlying plot is compelling, but the poor translation sometimes got in the way of my enjoyment. Also, the lack of character development for the supporting cast was disappointing. While the FL shines, many of the other characters felt a bit flat and one-dimensional. Also, the world building was a bit lacking, leaving me with a lot of questions.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some reviewers discussed key plot points, including the fate of certain characters and the reveal of conspiracies within the Interstellar Alliance. If you want to go in blind, skip the reviews and dive straight into the novel!
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "She Comes from the Highest Interstellar Prison" is a fun and engaging read for fans of action-packed sci-fi with a strong female lead. If you can overlook the translation issues and some underdeveloped aspects of the story, you'll find a thrilling tale of revenge and justice in a corrupt interstellar world. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
