My Thoughts on Seduction☆Strategy
Okay, buckle up, because "Seduction☆Strategy" is quite the ride. This isn't your typical isekai adventure; it's a full-blown R18 harem with a protagonist who's more interested in his savings account than true love. I went in expecting smut, and I definitely got it, but there's also a surprising layer of humor and absurdity that kept me entertained.
First Impressions
The premise is wild: a closeted salaryman, Keigo, gets transported to another world and tasked with defeating a dragon. The catch? He gains power by sleeping with different people. It's ridiculous, and the story embraces that wholeheartedly. From the get-go, I was laughing at Keigo's internal monologues and the over-the-top antics of the goddess pulling the strings.
What Works Well
The humor is definitely a strong point. Keigo's sarcastic narration and the sheer absurdity of his situation had me chuckling throughout. The harem itself is diverse and interesting, with characters like the dedicated knight Gilliam, and the intriguing Bardo adding depth beyond just being romantic interests. I also appreciated that Keigo doesn't fall in love with everyone he sleeps with; it's a refreshing subversion of typical harem tropes. The translator also deserves a shout-out, as they really brought the story to life.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall story, there were a few elements that gave me pause. The r*pe incident involving Farangis felt jarring, and the quick forgiveness was a bit unsettling. Also, I agree that the ending felt a bit rushed and open-ended. I would have loved to see more exploration of Keigo's life back on Earth and his final decision about whether to stay in the fantasy world or return home.
