This novel was quite the ride, a blend of horror, mystery, and romance set against the backdrop of a university with a dark secret. I Upended Yet Another Campus Urban Legend pulled me in with its unique premise and kept me hooked until the very end.

The initial hook is strong: a university where breaking urban legends leads to being sucked into deadly rule worlds. I immediately wanted to know more about Lin Yi, the awkward but clever protagonist, and Qin Zhou, the responsible and dedicated student union head. The early chapters establish a creepy atmosphere and the budding relationship between the two leads, which I found endearing.
What Works Well
The world-building is a major strength. Each rule world is distinct, with its own storyline and set of challenges. I appreciated the author's effort to flesh out the backgrounds of the monsters, exploring the nuances of good and evil. The plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat, and the suspense was well-maintained throughout.
