My Thoughts on Complicating Love

"Complicating Love" promised a rollercoaster of emotions, and boy, did it deliver! As a sucker for yuri stories, especially those that delve into the complexities of relationships, I was immediately drawn in. With its blend of fluff, angst, and a touch of yandere, this novel is definitely one that sticks with you.

First Impressions

The premise itself is quite enticing: a story of love, devotion, and perhaps a little obsession. The tags alone – beautiful female lead, clingy lover, and yandere – piqued my interest. I dove in expecting a wild ride, and I wasn't disappointed.

What Works Well

The character interactions are undoubtedly a highlight. The author crafts a believable dynamic between the leads, making their cute moments genuinely heartwarming. The female lead's innocent yet bold actions add a layer of intrigue, keeping you guessing about what she'll do next. The yandere elements, while present, are handled with a surprising degree of realism, at least initially. It's not an over-the-top portrayal, but rather a slow burn that simmers beneath the surface, adding tension and complexity to the relationship. The shift towards yandere tendencies after they start dating is a great way to build the story. The ending is also a happy one, which is something I always appreciate in a story that deals with darker themes.

Areas of Concern

Towards the end, the yandere elements are really starting to show, which may be a turn-off for some readers. The story may also get a little sad at times but it is a happy ending so it does give the reader some reassurance.

Final Verdict

"Complicating Love" is a captivating yuri novel that explores the depths of love, obsession, and everything in between. If you're a fan of stories with complex characters, emotional depth, and a touch of the unconventional, this one is definitely worth a read. Just be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions and a healthy dose of "yandere" antics!

Yuki leaves the train station and starts to feel nauseous and vomits on the side of the road. She is then helped by the female lead Aoi Sera and so the two characters meet, and the story starts.
