My Thoughts on After Being Robbed of Everything, She Returns as a Goddess
Alright, buckle up, because "After Being Robbed of Everything, She Returns as a Goddess" is quite the ride! This novel throws everything and the kitchen sink into its plot, and surprisingly, it mostly works. It’s a long commitment, but I found myself genuinely entertained by the sheer audacity of it all.
First Impressions
Initially, I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of tags. Ability Steal? Celebrities? Cultivation? It sounded like a recipe for disaster, but I was intrigued. The premise of a character returning with goddess-like powers after being wronged definitely piqued my interest. The early chapters had me laughing out loud. The MC is hilarious, and even the side characters have their moments. It's clear from the start that this isn't a story to be taken too seriously, and that's part of its charm.
What Works Well
The story's greatest strength lies in its ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into a cohesive whole. We're talking time travel, reincarnation, martial arts, modern technology, virtual reality, and ancient mysticism all swirling together. It's a chaotic mix, but the author manages to keep it engaging. The MC is undeniably OP, but I didn't find it off-putting. She's got skills in everything from martial arts and medicine to acting and gaming. And while the romance is a slow burn, I appreciated the gradual development of the relationship between the leads. I also found the world-building quite interesting. The author creates a unique setting that blends ancient and modern elements seamlessly.
Areas of Concern
The translation quality can be a bit hit-or-miss at times. There were moments where pronoun usage was confusing, creating a slight barrier to full immersion. Also, while I enjoyed the slow-burn romance, some readers might find it a bit too slow for their liking. It takes a while for any real progress to happen between the main couple.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers have expressed interest in finding out who stole the FL's luck and the role of the Ji family. There's also mention of hoping to see the Jiang family again.
Final Verdict
Despite its quirks, "After Being Robbed of Everything, She Returns as a Goddess" is a fun and engaging read. If you're looking for a story with an OP MC, a wild plot, and a healthy dose of humor, this might be right up your alley. Just be prepared for a long journey and try not to take things too seriously. I'd recommend giving it a try if you're in the mood for something a little different.
