This web novel certainly took me on a ride! "After Awakening, I Conquered The Whole World" is a blend of genres – action, comedy, drama, fantasy, and even a touch of horror – making it a unique and engaging read. The premise is intriguing: a powerful Array Master reincarnated after 10,000 years with amnesia. I found the combination of her ancient wisdom and current naivety quite charming.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the supernatural elements and the promise of a strong female lead. The first chapter wastes no time introducing both the FL, Qiao Jin, and the ML, Song Yanqing, which I appreciated. The story immediately hints at mysteries surrounding Qiao Jin's past life, which kept me hooked.
What Works Well
Qiao Jin is a compelling protagonist. She's not your typical overpowered character; she has weaknesses, like her aversion to school. Her interactions with the Mu family provide fantastic comedic relief. They are utterly adorable, and their warmth is a welcome contrast to the MC's initially detached nature. I loved seeing her slowly learn about familial love through them. The ML, Song Yanqing, is also well-developed. He's gentle yet decisive, and his black-bellied tendencies add a fun dynamic to their relationship. I enjoyed the plot's consistent thought and logical progression. The unexpected surprises and twists kept me guessing.
