My Thoughts on The Pe*vert and the Yandere

Okay, let me tell you, "The Pe*vert and the Yandere" was definitely a ride. I went in expecting something dark, and it delivered that in spades. It's a short, smutty, and twisted story, but somehow, I found myself strangely charmed by it.

First Impressions

Initially, I wasn't sure what to think. The premise is pretty out there – a stalker falling for a serial killer? But I quickly realized the author knows exactly what they're doing. This isn't trying to be a normal romance; it's a dark parody, and it embraces that wholeheartedly. The characters are messed up, and the story doesn't shy away from it.

What Works Well

The biggest strength of this novel is how well the two leads complement each other. It's a case of two wrongs making a right, in the most twisted way possible. The MC's obsessive pe*vert tendencies are met with the ML's possessive yandere nature, and instead of creating a disaster, it results in a weirdly functional, albeit psychotic, relationship.

I also appreciated the author's awareness of the toxicity. There's even a disclaimer reminding readers that this is fiction and to call the police if they encounter similar behavior in real life. It's a dark fantasy, not a guide to relationships!

Despite the darkness, there's a strange sweetness to it. Seeing these two find someone who accepts their flaws and loves them for who they are is oddly heartwarming. They are loyal to each other, and that means everything to them.

Areas of Concern

Honestly, my only real complaint is that it was too short! I wanted more of their messed-up dynamic and how they navigate the world as a couple. I wanted to see more of their world.

⚠️ Spoiler Warning

Okay, heads up, there are some spoilers ahead! Several readers mentioned specific instances of the MC's stalking behavior and the ML's murderous tendencies towards his exes. The story doesn't shy away from the details, so if you're sensitive to that kind of content, be warned. There's even a scene where the ML and MC kill people who were gossiping about them!

Final Verdict

Overall, I really enjoyed "The Pe*vert and the Yandere." It's a dark, twisted, and surprisingly cute story about two messed-up individuals finding love in the most unconventional way. If you're a fan of the yandere trope and don't mind a bit of darkness, I highly recommend giving this a read. Just remember, it's all in good fun (and fiction)!

Synopsis

Lin HaoMiao fell in love with Wen Wen at first sight after seeing him on the street. Knowing full well that the other party already had a boyfriend, he still couldn’t help himself from wanting him. In order to get closer to Wen Wen, Lin HaoMiao stalked, followed, spied and went through his garbage; he did everything. Until one day, they became trapped in a game world, and although Wen Wen’s boyfriend was there, at least they had something more in common, so Lin HaoMiao felt twistedly happy. Then he saw it with his own eyes – Wen Wen stabbed his boyfriend to a bloody pulp. A pe*verted and demented gong versus a neurotic and yandere shou. Both have twisted personalities and their three views are not very positive.
