My Thoughts on Shut Up, Young Lady, Obediently Hand Over The Money And Don’t Confess!

Okay, so I jumped into "Shut Up, Young Lady, Obediently Hand Over The Money And Don’t Confess!" with a mix of curiosity and slight trepidation. The title alone is a mouthful, but hey, sometimes the most intriguing stories have the silliest names, right? With genres spanning action, comedy, romance, and ecchi, I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

First Impressions

My initial impression was a bit… familiar. The opening setup, with the down-on-their-luck protagonist and their less-than-ideal family situation, felt like a trope I'd encountered before. It sets the stage for a classic underdog story, but I was hoping for a unique twist to set it apart.

What Works Well

Despite the somewhat familiar beginning, I found myself getting drawn into the protagonist's journey. The blend of genres actually works surprisingly well. The action keeps the plot moving, the comedy provides much-needed levity, and the potential for romance adds a layer of intrigue. The tags like "charming protagonist" and "clever protagonist" definitely ring true. The story seems to be building a world with interesting fantasy elements and creatures, which is a major plus for me. I'm always a sucker for well-developed fantasy worlds.

⚠️ Spoiler Warning

Okay, so if you want to go into this completely blind, skip this section!

There's a specific plot point in the early chapters that might feel a little too similar to another novel. I'm talking about the initial contract with the emotionless girl, which seems to follow a similar trajectory as a story where the protagonist provides psychological services.

Final Verdict

Overall, "Shut Up, Young Lady, Obediently Hand Over The Money And Don’t Confess!" has potential. While some elements feel a bit derivative, the blend of genres and the intriguing world-building are enough to keep me interested. I'm willing to stick around and see if it can truly distinguish itself and offer something fresh. If you're a fan of fantasy worlds with a mix of action, comedy, and romance, this might be worth checking out. Just go in with an open mind and be prepared for some familiar tropes along the way.

Synopsis

Felyn transmigrated into the body of a fallen noble, burdened with millions in debt. To survive, he faced a choice: become a hero in a different world or live off as gigolo. He chose to be gigolo. Felyn rents himself out to aristocratic young ladies with psychological issues, role-playing according to their demands, meticulously caring for their lives, and providing emotional value. He is a dog licker admirer for a cold maiden, a punching bag for a perfect student council president, a lover for a rational divine heir, a master for a wealthy dragon merchant’s daughter, and a brother to a princess. His clients also include a popular songstress, a witch, and others. Felyn just wants to do his job well, save enough money to buy a manor, and hire maids. Once the contracts end, he plans to leave these troubled young ladies behind. But when the contracts do expire, the ladies seem utterly unable to let him go. They all want to take him home and shower him with affection. Felyn: “Ladies, once the contract is over and the payment is made, we’re done. Don’t confess one by one, don’t think about getting it for free.”
