My Thoughts on Right on Target

"Right on Target" promised a wild ride of action, fantasy, and sci-fi romance, and for the most part, it delivered. Having heard it was a follow-up to "Time Limited Hunt," I jumped in eager to see what this futuristic world had in store.

First Impressions

The initial hook was strong. The blend of genres – action, fantasy, sci-fi, and even yaoi – created a unique and intriguing atmosphere. The tags, like "animal characteristics" and "eye powers," hinted at the quirky, imaginative elements within. I was especially excited about the "protagonist strong from the start" aspect, as I always enjoy a story where the MC takes charge.

What Works Well

The world-building is definitely a standout. The futuristic setting, peppered with cyberpunk elements, felt thoughtfully constructed. The action sequences were engaging, and the plot kept me guessing with its twists and turns. The characters, especially the MC and the "tiny tree," were memorable and added a layer of fun to the story. I found myself invested in their relationships and eager to see how they would navigate the challenges ahead. Also, I really appreciated how it wrapped up loose ends and provided answers to questions that were set up in "Time Limited Hunt".

Areas of Concern

While I enjoyed the overall experience, there were a few minor issues that held it back from being a perfect read for me. The pacing felt a bit off in certain flashback sections, which dragged on longer than necessary. I felt that the story could have benefited from a bit more conciseness in those areas.

⚠️ Spoiler Warning

The main couple's relationship development felt a bit rushed at the beginning. Their rapid transition from strangers to deeply devoted partners felt somewhat unearned, even within the context of the story. While their later interactions were more believable, the initial leap of faith felt a bit too sudden.

Final Verdict

Overall, "Right on Target" is an enjoyable and imaginative read. The strong world-building, engaging action, and memorable characters make it a worthwhile experience for fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and romance. Despite some minor pacing and relationship development issues, the novel delivers a satisfying and action-packed story. I'd recommend it, especially to those who have already enjoyed "Time Limited Hunt."
