My Thoughts on My Mister Ostrich
"My Mister Ostrich" is a novel that truly took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It's a coming-of-age story, a romance, and a slice of life all rolled into one, and it’s left a lasting impression.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise – a love story between childhood friends, one of whom is disabled, having lost both arms in an accident. I was expecting a heartwarming tale, but what I got was so much more. It's a story that doesn't shy away from the harsh realities of life, tackling issues like family dysfunction, societal prejudice, and personal insecurities.
What Works Well
What struck me most about "My Mister Ostrich" is its realism. The characters are flawed, just like real people. The female lead, Pang Qian, can be immature and even frustrating at times, especially in her younger years. However, her character development is gradual and believable, evolving from a somewhat selfish child into a strong, supportive partner.
