My Thoughts on Miss Cousin is Always Busy
"Miss Cousin is Always Busy" is a novel that's been on my radar for a while, and after finally diving in, I can see why it's so popular. It's a quick transmigration story with a yuri twist, following Jun Zishu as she travels to different worlds, each with its own unique setting and mission. While it's not without its flaws, the overall experience was engaging and enjoyable.
First Impressions
Initially, I was a bit hesitant. Quick transmigration can be hit or miss, and the sheer number of chapters felt daunting. However, the premise of a capable, sometimes icy, protagonist navigating various worlds with a focus on romance intrigued me enough to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. The early arcs, while perhaps not the strongest, laid a solid foundation for what was to come.
What Works Well
The author's creativity shines through in the diverse range of worlds Jun Zishu visits. From zombie apocalypses to intricate murder mysteries, each arc feels fresh and distinct. The writing style adapts well to these different genres, showcasing the author's versatility. I particularly enjoyed how the main character, Jun Zishu, grows and evolves throughout her journey. Her initial coldness gradually melts as she grapples with the concept of love and forms genuine connections with the female leads in each world. The romances themselves are sweet and well-written, with good chemistry between the characters.
Areas of Concern
While I found the individual arcs to be largely enjoyable, the overarching plot felt somewhat underdeveloped. The connections between the worlds and the ultimate resolution felt rushed and could have been explored in greater depth. Also, some of the arc endings felt abrupt, leaving me wanting just a bit more closure.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers might find certain arcs to be darker than others, particularly the yandere and police arcs, which contain graphic content. While these arcs offer unique and intriguing scenarios, they may not be suitable for all readers.
Final Verdict
Despite its minor flaws, "Miss Cousin is Always Busy" is a highly enjoyable read. The engaging world-building, well-developed characters, and sweet romances make it a standout in the quick transmigration genre. If you're a fan of yuri, diverse storylines, and a protagonist who undergoes significant character growth, I highly recommend giving this novel a try. I'd rate it a solid 4 out of 5 stars, with a strong recommendation to anyone looking for a fun and engaging web novel.
