My Thoughts on Hedonist Sovereign
"Hedonist Sovereign" is quite the ride, a web novel that throws you headfirst into a world of modern xuanhuan, harems, and a protagonist who… well, he's complicated. It’s a story that definitely has its moments, but also some significant drawbacks that kept me from fully enjoying it.
First Impressions
The premise is intriguing: Qin Feng, a pleasure-seeking young master, gets saddled with a "Hedonist System" that forces him to… become a better hedonist? The initial chapters paint him as someone almost addicted to pleasure, but the system's quests seem to steer him away from that, which feels a bit contradictory. Several readers have pointed out this jarring shift, and I can see where they're coming from. It's like the novel sets up one expectation and then veers off in a different direction.
What Works Well
