My Thoughts on City of Sin
"City of Sin" is a sprawling web novel that I dove into with a mix of excitement and trepidation, given its mixed reception. It's a story that tries to blend action, adventure, fantasy, and even a touch of sci-fi, all wrapped up in a xuanhuan package. Did it succeed? Well, it's complicated.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the world-building. The author clearly put effort into crafting a detailed setting, with its own power structures, political landscapes, and diverse races. The early parts of the story, particularly Richard's time at the magical academy, were slow but served to establish the foundations of the world and the protagonist's character.
