My Thoughts on Aromatic Flesh
"Aromatic Flesh" is quite the ride. It's a collection of interconnected stories, each with a different setting and objective for our female lead. While the smut tag might draw you in, be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions, as the novel doesn't shy away from heavier themes.
First Impressions
Initially, I went in expecting a purely smut-driven experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find that each arc possessed a distinct plot, setting, and emotional core. The premise of a cannon fodder character outsmarting the main heroine and stealing the ML through seduction is interesting. The writing in the earlier arcs felt a little unrefined, but I noticed a definite improvement as the story progressed.
What Works Well
What I appreciated most was the variety of worlds and the author's ability to evoke strong emotions. Some of the arcs are genuinely heartbreaking, particularly arc 3. The characters, though sometimes morally questionable, felt three-dimensional and complex. I felt the FL's journey of self-discovery and acceptance of her sexuality was handled with nuance, even amidst the often-explicit content. Many of the arcs have satisfying, well-rounded conclusions.
Areas of Concern
I would be remiss if I didn't address the darker elements. Arc 3, in particular, contains themes of r*pe, blackmail, and abuse that some readers may find triggering. Also, the quality of arcs varies, and there are some incomplete arcs, as the author seems to have discontinued the story.

Several arcs contain sensitive content. Arc 3 features a stepbrother-sister relationship with non-consensual acts. There's also an arc with a significant age gap and what some might consider i*cest themes. Some readers found the vampire arc well done, but felt the ML was dumb near the end.
Final Verdict
"Aromatic Flesh" is a unique and engaging read, albeit one that comes with a content warning. If you're looking for a QT novel with smut and well-developed plots, this might be for you. Just be aware of the potential triggers and the fact that the story is likely incomplete. I'd rate it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
