My Thoughts on Three Years After I Was Betrayed By Humanity
This novel definitely grabbed my attention with its intriguing premise and blend of genres. "Three Years After I Was Betrayed By Humanity" promises a tale of revenge, resilience, and perhaps even a bit of slice-of-life comfort, and for the most part, it delivers. It's a story I found myself quickly invested in, eager to see how the protagonist would navigate a world that had wronged her.
First Impressions
The initial chapters are strong, immediately throwing you into the aftermath of the betrayal. The author does a fantastic job of setting the stage and making you sympathize with the MC. I was hooked by the premise and excited to see where the story would go.
What Works Well
The protagonist is undoubtedly the strongest aspect of this novel. Her mental fortitude and unwavering resolve are truly admirable. Seeing her navigate the challenges, make tough decisions, and ultimately strive for a peaceful existence is compelling. The dynamic between her, Ella, and the black cat also provides a good balance of heartwarming and cunning interactions. The story is generally well-paced and engaging, making it a satisfying read overall.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the journey, I did find some aspects a bit lacking. The ending, in particular, felt somewhat rushed. While the conclusion is satisfying on a surface level, I couldn't help but feel that it could have been more fleshed out. The introduction of sci-fi elements also felt a little out of place at times, disrupting the overall flow of the story. The additional stories felt incomplete, leaving me wanting more closure.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Be warned, the following contains minor spoilers!
The circumstances surrounding the ending, especially the reset and the protagonist's acceptance of it, might leave some readers wanting more explanation or development. The sudden appearance of non-corrupted humans also felt a bit abrupt and could have benefited from more build-up.
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Three Years After I Was Betrayed By Humanity" is a worthwhile read, especially if you enjoy stories with strong female leads, themes of betrayal and recovery, and a touch of dark humor. While the ending might feel a bit rushed and some elements could be better integrated, the overall journey is engaging and satisfying. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Be prepared for a story that might leave you wanting more, but one that you'll likely remember for its compelling protagonist and unique premise.
