My Thoughts on Landing On My Heart
"Landing On My Heart" promised a fluffy romance with a strong female lead, and while it largely delivered, my experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. This novel definitely has its charms, but also a few quirks that might not appeal to everyone.
First Impressions
Initially, I wasn't completely sold on either of the main characters. The male lead, a CEO, comes off as arrogant and presumptuous, making some questionable assumptions about the female lead. The female lead, a pilot, seemed a bit too indecisive at times. However, I stuck with it, hoping to see some character growth, and I'm glad I did.
What Works Well
Many readers praised the female lead's strength and independence, and I have to agree. She's ambitious and determined, pursuing her dreams without relying on anyone else. I particularly enjoyed the sections focusing on her career as a pilot, which felt both thrilling and empowering. Later in the story, their relationship became more stable and mature, which I appreciated. I also found the humor to be a strong point, and the absence of overly vicious characters was a refreshing change.
Areas of Concern
The initial misunderstanding between the leads felt a bit contrived and dragged on for too long. I also felt that the male lead's motivations for falling in love weren't always clear. While some readers enjoyed the "enemies to lovers" trope, I found their bickering a little tiresome at times. The characters sometimes felt inconsistent, and I wish there had been more depth to their personalities.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers felt that the female lead forgave the male lead too easily. Others were frustrated by her continued doubts and mistrust, even after they became a couple. There were also mixed opinions on the portrayal of the female lead's mother, who abandoned her in childhood.
Final Verdict
Overall, I'd say "Landing On My Heart" is a decent read if you're in the mood for something light and fluffy. While it has its flaws, the strong female lead and humorous moments make it an enjoyable experience. It's not a groundbreaking novel, but it's a pleasant way to spend a few hours. I would give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
