My Thoughts on Assassin Landlord & Beauty Tenants

Okay, so I jumped into Assassin Landlord & Beauty Tenants with a bit of excitement, lured in by the promise of action, comedy, and a dash of harem shenanigans. The premise is definitely intriguing: a retired assassin buys a villa and becomes a landlord to a trio of beautiful women. It sounds like a recipe for some fun, right? Here's what I thought.

First Impressions

The initial chapters definitely grabbed my attention. The setup is solid, and the idea of a super-skilled assassin trying to live a normal life is inherently appealing. The introduction of the tenants was well-paced, and I was eager to see how the relationships would develop. There was a good blend of humor and action in the beginning that kept me hooked.

What Works Well

The fight scenes are definitely a highlight. When the action kicks off, the author does a pretty good job of keeping things exciting. I also appreciated the "feel-good" vibe that permeates the story. Despite the protagonist's past, there's an underlying sense of lightheartedness that makes it an easy read. The comedy, when it hits, lands fairly well, adding to the overall enjoyment.

Areas of Concern

However, I did find some aspects a bit lacking. While the action is good, the main character's strength seems inconsistent. For someone who's supposed to be a top-tier assassin, he gets into trouble a bit too often. The romantic development, or lack thereof, was another disappointment. I was expecting more harem shenanigans, but the story seems to focus more on the MC constantly saving the women. This got repetitive after a while and I found myself wanting more character development.

Final Verdict

Overall, Assassin Landlord & Beauty Tenants is a mixed bag. It has a fun premise, exciting fight scenes, and a lighthearted tone. However, the inconsistent character strength and lack of romantic development hold it back from being truly great. If you're looking for a relatively easy read with plenty of action and comedy, this might be worth checking out. Just don't expect a masterpiece. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

Synopsis

The name Zhao Tie Zhu (lit. Zhao Steel Pillar) sounded pretty unrefined. But, when it came to his nickname, Phantom, it could be said that everyone in the assassin societies around the world know it. Nowadays, the world was too peaceful, and because of that, the assassination business wasn’t going well. Hearing real estate could earn you good money, Zhao Tie Zhu bought a huge villa, and became the legendary landlord. He only rented his villa to single women. Zhao Tie Zhu posted renting advertisements on a well-known social website, and with that, women all came one after the other to his villa. The prettiest in schools, the prettiest in police teams, and all sorts of beauties came into his surroundings. Proclaiming himself as hegemon of campuses, unifying the underworld. All so that the tenants would live in even more content. I am a very responsible landlord — Said the Zhao Tie Zhu who was stepping on countless skeletons of the enemy.
