My Thoughts on When Golden Finger Meets Salted Fish
I've just finished reading "When Golden Finger Meets Salted Fish," and I have to say, it's a fun ride! This xuanhuan novel blends comedy, drama, and romance in a way that kept me hooked, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on it.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise: a "salted fish" MC (basically, a lazy protagonist) who gets a golden finger (a cheat ability). The contrast intrigued me, and I was eager to see how the author would balance the MC's initially passive nature with the demands of a cultivation world. It definitely had my attention from the start.
What Works Well
The dynamic between the MC and the system is genuinely hilarious. It's clear the author has a knack for comedic timing, and I found myself chuckling throughout the story. What I really appreciated was the MC's character development. While she starts off as lazy, she grows and evolves, eventually recognizing the importance of strength to protect those she cares about, particularly the FL. This growth felt natural and earned.
Speaking of the female lead, I was initially hesitant about the "cold" archetype, but the author made her surprisingly endearing. The story is well-paced, and I never felt like chapters dragged on. The writing style is engaging, and the MC's personality is definitely a highlight – she’s relatable and interesting. The inclusion of a whole extra volume after the main story concludes is something I also really enjoyed. It provides a sense of closure and allows you to relax and enjoy the world a bit longer.
Areas of Concern
While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, there were a couple of things that could have been improved. I felt that the author introduced several interesting plot threads that were then quickly resolved or abandoned. I would have loved to see those ideas developed more fully, as they had the potential to add even more depth to the story.
Final Verdict
Overall, "When Golden Finger Meets Salted Fish" is a delightful read that I would recommend, especially if you're looking for a fun blend of comedy, romance, and cultivation. While there are some minor pacing issues with certain plot points, the engaging characters, humorous interactions, and satisfying character growth make it a worthwhile experience. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
