My Thoughts on Time
"Time" promised a sweet romance with a gaming twist, and while it delivered on some fronts, it stumbled in others. Overall, I found it to be an okay read, but it didn't quite reach its full potential.
First Impressions
The initial setup reminded me of "A Slight Smile is Very Charming," with a charming male lead pursuing the female lead through an online game. I was drawn in by the potential for lighthearted fun, but I quickly realized that the story had a slightly darker edge than I anticipated. The sheer number of characters introduced early on was overwhelming, making it difficult to connect with anyone.
What Works Well
I appreciated the unique take on the "rich and handsome CEO falls for the commoner girl" trope. The male lead's devotion was undeniable, even if it occasionally bordered on obsessive. The author did a decent job of portraying his unwavering commitment, showing how he adapted his strategies to win over the female lead. The gaming aspect, while not always seamlessly integrated, added a unique flavor to the story. The moments of heartbreak added depth and kept me engaged.
Areas of Concern
However, the story felt disjointed at times. The pacing felt rushed, with the characters falling in love quickly, only for a melodramatic plot twist to throw everything into disarray. I struggled to believe in the depth of their connection, especially given the female lead's initial reluctance and the male lead's somewhat overbearing pursuit. The female lead was kind of plain, and didn't have many character traits. The interactions also felt off, lacking the spark and tension that make a romance truly captivating.

One major issue for me was the handling of the conflict involving the male lead's family and the female lead's past. The fact that she initially disliked him, then fell in love after discovering his uncle was responsible for her parent's death, felt forced and unbelievable. This plot twist, while adding drama, ultimately undermined the romance for me.

"Time" is a light and fluffy read that ultimately didn't quite hit the mark for me. While I enjoyed the gaming elements and the male lead's devotion, the disjointed plot, forced romance, and unlikeable interactions held it back from being a truly memorable story. I'd recommend it to those seeking a simple, undemanding romance with a gaming twist, but with the caveat that it may not leave a lasting impression.
