My Thoughts on My Disciple Wants to Tease Me Every Day
"My Disciple Wants to Tease Me Every Day" certainly piqued my interest with its promise of a Chinese Yuri cultivation story. These are still pretty rare, and the master-disciple dynamic is always something I enjoy, especially when there's a twist involved. After diving in, I definitely have some thoughts!
First Impressions
The initial chapters drew me in with the classic premise of a protagonist trying to prevent a future world-destroyer from, well, destroying the world. The idea of using the master-disciple trope in a yuri context felt fresh, and I was eager to see how the relationship between Jiufeng and Ning Guang would develop. I was definitely looking forward to a heartwarming tale, and the early chapters delivered on that front.
What Works Well
The core of this novel lies in the dynamic between the two leads. The evolution from a master-disciple relationship to something more is compelling. I found myself invested in their journey, especially as I saw Ning Guang's devotion grow. Many others also seem to enjoy the "paper tiger being indulged by a dragon" dynamic. For readers who enjoy a yandere character, this novel seems to be a hit.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed many aspects, I did have some reservations. The pacing felt rushed, jumping quickly into the relationship. I also noticed there's a system element that, to some, felt forced and unnecessary, dictating the romantic progression a bit too much. Additionally, the plot takes some unexpected turns that could be confusing. I can see how some might find the later developments a bit too convoluted.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers may find certain plot points disturbing, especially concerning Ning Guang's possessiveness and actions. The ending, in particular, seems to have sparked some debate, with questions raised about the logic of time travel and character motivations.
Final Verdict
"My Disciple Wants to Tease Me Every Day" is a unique novel that blends xianxia, yuri, and a touch of yandere obsession. If you're a fan of devoted relationships and don't mind a bit of a wild ride, this might be right up your alley. However, be prepared for some questionable actions and a potentially confusing plot. Overall, I found it an enjoyable read, even with its flaws.
