My Thoughts on General, You’ve Lost Your Inhibitor!
"General, You’ve Lost Your Inhibitor!" is an interstellar omegaverse novel, and diving into it was quite the ride. I came in expecting a fun blend of action, mecha, and romance, and while it delivered on some fronts, other aspects left me wanting more. Overall, it’s a decent read, but it has its strengths and weaknesses.
First Impressions
The initial setup grabbed my attention. A transmigration story where the MC is a powerful general who hates being an omega? Intriguing! The futuristic setting and political intrigue also seemed promising. However, as I delved deeper, I noticed some pacing issues.
What Works Well
I appreciated the strong omega MC. He's not a damsel in distress, and I enjoyed his cold and decisive personality. The ML is also a refreshing take on the alpha, with his supportive nature. The romance, while slow-burn, felt genuine as they learned to trust each other. I also found the supporting characters added depth to the story. The world-building, while not perfect, was interesting, especially the concept of artificial humans with zerg genes.
Areas of Concern
The plot felt convoluted and rushed towards the end. While there were twists and turns, some of them felt anticlimactic. Some plot points that could have been explored more deeply were glossed over. I also felt the story struggled to balance its comedic elements with the more serious themes. There were also some concerns raised about the villain’s fate. The ending felt a little rushed, and I wished for a few more chapters to flesh out the epilogue.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers had strong feelings about certain plot points. For example, the circumstances surrounding the ML marking the MC while drunk was a point of contention, with some feeling it was non-consensual while others felt it was consensual. Also, the lack of children at the end was disappointing for some.
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "General, You’ve Lost Your Inhibitor!" is still an enjoyable read. If you're a seasoned reader of omegaverse sci-fi and looking for something to pass the time, this might be worth checking out. However, if you're expecting a perfectly polished story with no plot holes, you might be disappointed. I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
