My Thoughts on All Things Wrong
"All Things Wrong" is a VRMMORPG novel that certainly lives up to its name. With an overall rating of 3.8/5, it seems like readers are split, and after diving in, I can understand why. It's a wild ride filled with chaotic energy, but it's not without its flaws.
First Impressions
Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect. The premise of a bugged MC who gains experience when he should lose it is intriguing, and the early chapters definitely grabbed my attention. The humor is definitely a selling point, and I found myself chuckling at the MC's absurd situations. However, the real-life aspects felt a bit weak and unnecessary; I found myself wanting to skip straight back into the game.
What Works Well
The core strength of "All Things Wrong" lies in its comedic elements and the sheer shamelessness of the main character. He's a bug in the system, and his creative, often masochistic, ways of exploiting this glitch are genuinely entertaining. The misunderstandings that arise from his actions are hilarious, especially when others perceive him as an OP player when he's really just trying to survive. The plot points can be unique, and the character interactions are quite entertaining.
Areas of Concern
While the humor carries the story, some aspects need improvement. The initial sexism can be uncomfortable for some readers, and while it might not be intentional, it's worth noting. The premise, while initially fun, can become repetitive as the MC's actions are limited to finding new ways to "die" in the game. The writing quality is uneven, with some parts being absolutely brilliant, while others are unoriginal. The number of secret identities the MC has can be confusing. The fact that the MC is cheating and griefing can be a turn off.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers have mentioned the potential romance between the MC and Scarlet, the "Brother-in-Law" dynamic with the Loli, and the MC's relationship with his neighbor.
Final Verdict
"All Things Wrong" is a mixed bag. If you're looking for a serious, immersive VRMMORPG, this isn't it. However, if you're in the mood for a laugh-out-loud, irreverent story with a shameless protagonist, then give it a try. Just be prepared to overlook some inconsistencies and potentially problematic elements along the way. I'd say it's a solid 3.5/5 stars – entertaining but definitely flawed.
