My Thoughts on Walking the Path of a Workaholic in Cliché Novels (QT)
First Impressions
"Walking the Path of a Workaholic in Cliché Novels (QT)" immediately grabbed my attention with its intriguing title. The premise of a protagonist transmigrating into cliché novel worlds while remaining dedicated to their career felt like a breath of fresh air in the QT genre. I dove in, eager to see how the author would execute this concept.
What Works Well
What I appreciated most was the focus on the main character, An Yinyong. He's portrayed as a self-reliant and hardworking individual, and I found his solutions to problems within each world to be quite realistic. The author excels at crafting detailed and immersive arcs. The second arc, in particular, stood out for its vivid depiction of ancient times and the struggles of survival. I felt An Yinyong's internal conflict as he balanced his desire to help others with his own limitations. The slow-burn romance between An Yinyong and Yu, the ML, is also a highlight. It's a sweet and supportive relationship, with Yu consistently devoted to An Yinyong's goals. I also appreciated the fluid writing style, making the story easy to get lost in. Many of the arcs felt like self-contained short stories, which kept me engaged.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the novel, I did find some aspects that could be improved. The length of the arcs sometimes felt excessive, leading to a slower pace. I noticed that the system and task aspects of the QT premise seemed to fade into the background as the story progressed. I personally found the ending to be a bit rushed, leaving me wanting more closure. The biggest concern for some readers seems to be the translation quality. Several mentioned that it reads like lightly edited MTL, with typos and awkward phrasing.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
- The bloodlines MC gets are mermaid, disney princess, druid and something related to that.
- ML was also a tasker who completely awakened the Black Dragon Bloodline who are said to be very violent and made him emotionless, which is why he was captured (?) and kept in a capsule or smth.
- The arcs are Entertainment, Historical+Ghost, 90s, Zerg+Survivor Game, and MC's Original World with Mutant animals and Humans.
Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Walking the Path of a Workaholic in Cliché Novels (QT)" is a worthwhile read. The strong characterization, immersive world-building, and unique premise make it stand out in the QT genre. If you're looking for a novel with a focus on career-driven goals, a sweet romance, and don't mind some lengthy arcs, I recommend giving this one a try. Just be aware of the potential translation issues.
