My Thoughts on Quick Transmigration: The Big Shot Has Gone Crazy Again
Okay, so I dove into "Quick Transmigration: The Big Shot Has Gone Crazy Again" with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Quick transmigration stories can be a hit or miss, and I was curious to see where this one landed for me. After reading a good portion of the novel, here are my thoughts.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked. The premise is intriguing: a powerful, somewhat detached female lead, Nan Yuan, traversing different worlds to collect faith. The early arcs promised a badass protagonist who was in control and effortlessly OP. That's often my catnip when it comes to web novels – a strong female lead who doesn't take any nonsense.
What Works Well
The world-hopping adventure is definitely a draw. Each world presents new challenges and opportunities for Nan Yuan to showcase her strength and intelligence. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Nan Yuan and Xiao Tang, a character who brings out a softer side to our otherwise cold protagonist. The author clearly excels at creating unique and engaging scenarios. The ML is quite the character, toeing the line between loving and obsessively yandere. The author does a good job of creating an ML that is devoted to Nan Yuan but still has his own personality.
Areas of Concern
However, I did have some reservations. A common point of contention seems to be a perceived inconsistency in the main character's personality later in the story. The shift from a dominant, in-control "big shot" to a more vulnerable character didn't sit well with me either. The amnesia arc, while potentially interesting, felt sudden and perhaps a bit forced, disrupting the established flow of the narrative. The author probably wanted to explore a more vulnerable side to her character but it came at the cost of what made her interesting in the first place.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
(This section contains potential spoilers regarding plot developments)
I can understand why some readers were turned off by the amnesia arc where Nan Yuan loses her memories and cultivation. While it does offer an opportunity for character growth and exploration of emotions, it arguably deviates from the initial appeal of an overpowered protagonist.
Final Verdict
Overall, "Quick Transmigration: The Big Shot Has Gone Crazy Again" is a mixed bag. The initial arcs are strong, with an interesting premise and a compelling protagonist. However, later plot developments, particularly the character change and amnesia arc, may not appeal to all readers. If you're looking for a consistently OP female lead, this novel might not be for you. But if you're willing to embrace character development and a more emotional storyline, it could be worth a shot. I'd give it a tentative recommendation, with the caveat that your enjoyment may depend on your tolerance for deviations from the initial character archetype.
