My Thoughts on No Fatigue: 24-jikan Tatakaeru Otoko no Tenseitan
"No Fatigue: 24-jikan Tatakaeru Otoko no Tenseitan" (which I'm just going to call "No Fatigue" for brevity) has been an interesting experience, to say the least. It's a reincarnation story with a twist – our MC gets the power of, well, never getting tired. The premise definitely grabbed my attention, and while the execution isn't perfect, there are certainly aspects I found enjoyable.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the unique spin on the reincarnation trope. The idea of a protagonist who can grind endlessly is appealing, especially since the author seems to explore the implications of such an ability. The early chapters focus on the MC's rapid skill acquisition and adaptation to his new life, which I found engaging.
What Works Well
I appreciate the effort put into justifying the reincarnation itself. The goddess's reasoning for choosing our MC is a step up from the typical "truck-kun" scenario, giving the story a stronger foundation. The protagonist's "No Fatigue" ability is used creatively. It's not just a passive buff; he actively utilizes it to train and improve, which adds a layer of depth to his character development. Some of the humorous elements also landed well for me, especially the MC's internal monologues and unconventional problem-solving. The family dynamics also stand out; the author makes an effort to showcase the importance of family bonds.
Areas of Concern
However, I do have some reservations. The pacing can be uneven, with some sections feeling rushed while others drag on. The power scaling felt a bit off at times. The MC's rapid growth can make it difficult to establish a sense of danger or challenge. Some of the side characters feel underdeveloped or serve primarily as plot devices, which is a shame.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
Some readers have expressed concerns about specific plot points, such as the MC's interactions with a cult and the introduction of certain antagonist abilities. These elements have been criticized for feeling nonsensical or poorly executed.
Final Verdict
Overall, "No Fatigue" is a mixed bag. While it has a unique premise and some genuinely enjoyable moments, it also suffers from pacing issues, inconsistent characterization, and questionable plot developments. If you're looking for a lighthearted isekai with a focus on character progression and don't mind some flaws, this might be worth checking out. However, if you prefer more polished and consistent storytelling, you might want to proceed with caution. I'd give it a tentative 3/5 stars.
