My Thoughts on Love Sick
"Love Sick" has been on my radar for a while, especially after hearing how it kickstarted the whole Thai BL craze. Finally diving in, I can definitely see the appeal! It's a sweet and funny high school romance that's easy to get swept up in.
First Impressions
The story follows Noh, and his inner monologues are hilarious! He's a relatable character, just trying to navigate school and relationships. Phun, the male lead, is initially presented as Mr. Perfect, but I quickly saw his clingy and adorable side when he's around Noh. It's a fun dynamic that kept me hooked. The writing style is engaging, almost like reading a diary, which makes the story feel personal and immediate.
What Works Well
I loved the relationship between Noh and Phun. It's genuinely heartwarming, and I found myself laughing and even tearing up at different points. Their dynamic felt balanced, with neither character being overly feminized or helpless. It's refreshing to see a couple where they save each other equally. The side characters are also well-developed, even though we only get Noh's perspective. They add depth and humor to the story, making the world feel alive.
