This web novel presents a seemingly classic "bad job" scenario, but quickly veers off the beaten path, offering a refreshing take on the genre. Instead of wallowing in despair, our protagonist, Daisy, embraces her role as an alchemist, even if noble society deems it undesirable. While the title might be a bit clickbaity, it successfully piqued my interest, and I found myself drawn into Daisy's journey of self-discovery and alchemical exploration.
First Impressions
Initially, I was charmed by the slice-of-life elements and the focus on character growth. The early chapters hooked me with their lighthearted tone and the intriguing premise of an alchemist carving her own path. The family dynamic also stood out; their support for Daisy, despite societal expectations, added a heartwarming layer to the narrative.
What Works Well
The alchemy aspect is where this novel truly shines. The author delves into the nitty-gritty details of Daisy's experiments, making the process both engaging and educational. Also, while the initial chapters are wholesome, the author occasionally dumps information and character stats that can interrupt the flow of the story.
