My Thoughts on Stolen Love
"Stolen Love" presents an intriguing blend of action, romance, and a protagonist who's trying to leave a life of crime behind. With an overall rating that leans towards positive, I dove into this novel with high hopes, eager to see if it lived up to the hype.
First Impressions
The initial chapters immediately hooked me. The premise of a retired, badass thief attempting to live a normal life is certainly appealing. Li Xin, our main character, is cool, collected, and refreshingly indifferent to many situations. This apathy, combined with her hidden skills, makes for some genuinely humorous and interesting interactions. I was definitely looking forward to seeing how her past would inevitably collide with her present.
What Works Well
Li Xin is undoubtedly the star of the show. Her personality is a breath of fresh air, and I found myself enjoying her internal monologues and reactions to the chaos around her. The action sequences are engaging, and the plot, while perhaps a bit episodic, keeps you entertained.
