The premise alone – a modern-day detective story slamming headfirst into a fantasy world with magic and warrior princesses – had me intrigued. The initial setup, with an island appearing out of nowhere and connecting Earth to another dimension, is a pretty cool way to kick things off. It's a bit of a genre blender, throwing noir, action, sci-fi, and fantasy into a single pot, which can be either a recipe for disaster or pure gold.
