Jiang Xuening is opportunistic and makes questionable choices, especially in her first life. This makes her journey of self-improvement all the more compelling. I found the male leads, especially Xie Wei, to be complex and interesting. His ruthless nature and tragic past made him a captivating character, and I enjoyed seeing him slowly open up to Xuening. The palace intrigue and political maneuvering, while sometimes messy, added depth to the story and kept me engaged. I also thought the side characters, like Princess Leyang and Jiang Xuehui, were well-developed and contributed to the overall richness of the narrative. ### Areas of Concern I can see why some readers found the plot and characterization to be inconsistent at times. The author prioritizes emotional impact, which can lead to some logical leaps. The translation quality can also be a barrier, particularly for those relying on MTL (machine translation). Pronoun ambiguity and odd word choices made it difficult to follow the story at times. Additionally, the 3rd ML's actions in the first life, particularly the r*pe, are problematic and unnecessary.
