My Thoughts on Too Many Reborn? I Lead The National Team!
"Too Many Reborn? I Lead The National Team!" is a wild ride of a novel that throws you headfirst into a world on the brink of apocalypse, teeming with reborn individuals and burgeoning superpowers. The premise alone is enough to grab your attention: a government task force dedicated to managing these self-proclaimed "chosen ones." I was definitely intrigued.
First Impressions
The initial hook is strong, driven by the no-nonsense female lead, Sheng An. I immediately appreciated her cool, collected demeanor as she navigates the chaos of this new reality. The idea of a team dedicated to wrangling these overpowered individuals had me chuckling, and I dove in expecting a healthy dose of action and comedy.
What Works Well
The novel truly shines with its ensemble cast. Each side character feels fleshed out and contributes meaningfully to the plot. I particularly enjoyed the competent researchers and government officials, a refreshing change from the often-inept support characters found in similar stories. The dynamic within Sheng An's team is also a highlight, providing plenty of comedic relief while still playing a vital role in saving the world. The relationship between Sheng An and her partner is also well-done.
Areas of Concern
While the story is overall engaging, some areas could be improved. The pacing slows down in the middle, and I found myself wanting more direct action from Sheng An, especially considering her powerful abilities. Her powers take a while to develop. There were also some tragic character deaths.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning
The following section contains spoilers about plot points and character arcs.
The level of nationalism woven into the plot can be a bit jarring. The sacrifices made by some characters, while logically sound, can be emotionally difficult to accept.
Final Verdict
Despite a few pacing issues and some emotionally heavy moments, "Too Many Reborn? I Lead The National Team!" is a worthwhile read. The well-developed characters, engaging plot, and unique premise make it a hidden gem in the web novel landscape. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
